On the commandline using sdcv[0] with a generate stardict from wiktionary[1] is a great combo.

Yes, but it’s not sufficient. It has ~50k words in Italian, which is half of what’s in Treccani (~115k) or De Mauro (~120k). Also, definitions are often of much better quality in the Treccani dictionary.
